"I'm not sure if this will come as a surprise or not, or whether anyone will actually care all that much, but with immediate effect I'm stepping down as guitarist for Continents. I've had a pretty hectic year with the band and in my own personal life too, and it's come to the point where I'm finding that I no longer have the enthusiasm or passion for music that I once had. I leave the band with no regrets, no bitterness, no bad terms, and with no doubt that the rest of the guys will be going on to huge things in 2014 and beyond; but my limited interest and devotion is only ever going to act as a weight, and I don't want to be the one to hold the band back.

"As it stands I'm hoping the Odessa UK farewell show with Demoraliser and Despite My Deepest Fear will also act as my farewell show too. All those guys were there with us when things really started to take off, and it only seems fitting that they're there when they end for me. I need to thank the other guys for sharing an incredible 4 years with me, Dean, Spud, Mike Jones, and any other promoters who helped us get off the ground back in 2010, everyone at Victory Records for having enough faith in us to help fund our endeavors since 2012, all of the guys at Burning Chariot Media, Marianne Harris, Leigh Drinkwater, Georgia Pearce, Ryan Rodrigues, and any other photographers who've helped capture my fantastic guitar gurns, anyone who's ever let me sleep on their floor or in a spare bed, anyone who's ever come up to me at a show and asked what brand my guitar is or what the settings are on my amp (I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful, I'm actually a dreadful musician and I just play things that I think look cool), and anyone who's ever supported us as a band; I've experienced something that very few musicians will ever get to and I'm eternally grateful for that.

"I need to stress that this is by no means the end of Continents, we've already written a huge chunk of our second album, and have some huge plans for 2014. This is just the end of one chapter in a very long story. Peace and love as always."
