Melbourne's Comedy Republic have announced a massive program of shows set to take place during the Melbourne Fringe festival.

The venue - owned and operated by performers Kyran Wheatley, Rhys Nicholson and Alex Dyson - will showcase a series of brand new special events, works in progress, variety shows and more, taking place throughout October.

Festival favourite Ivan Aristeguieta and Rosehaven star David Quirk are both previewing new hours of stand-up, titled The First Pancake and A Quirk In Progress respectively.

Local up-and-comer Grace Jarvis will also deliver a new draft performance for fans. The deadpan absurdist will share brand new material in the form of her show Very Odd Duck.

Taking a break from stand-up after his Best Newcomer win at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Charlie Zangel is presenting a brand new improv talk show Charlie Zangel’s Full Throttle. The show will feature special guests each night going up against Zangel and his trio of improviser costars Tiana Hogben, Hayley Tantau and Frankie McNair.

Variety is also at the forefront for sketch duo Woah, Alyssa! The pair will host Woah, Alyssa! and Besties, showcasing some of their favourite acts from the local scene.
