"Next September’s festival will be a celebration of everything that has made CMC Rocks and the CMC Rocks community so incredibly special."
After being away for two whole years due to the pandemic, iconic country music festival CMC Rocks QLD has confirmed its triumphant return for a massive celebration in 2022.
The annual live event - which hasn't occurred since 2019 - will be back in Willowbank next September to commemorate 15 years of operation, with some major names announced for the headliner slots.
US country royalty Brad Paisley, country/R&B superstar Kane Brown and local legend Morgan Evans have all been confirmed to take part, with stacks more for the lineup still to come.
“We couldn’t wait!" promoter Michael Chugg said of the announcement. "We know that it’s been a long year and a half for country music fans, we’ve felt it too. After making the heartbreaking decision to postpone our 2020 event a week before the festival was due to take place, we’ve been working hard to navigate all the changes and find the best way forward, safely.”
Festival director Jeremy Dylan also shared his excitement, adding, "We are so proud to be returning on our 15th anniversary year. Next September’s festival will be a celebration of everything that has made CMC Rocks and the CMC Rocks community so incredibly special – and for the privilege to gather together again and be united by our love of country music."
Dylan continued, "It’s also very special to be making this announcement on my late father Rob Potts’ birthday. His vision as founder of CMC Rocks is what we are striving to live up to and bring to life, and to be coming back with Brad Paisley as one of our headliners – an artist he worked to bring to Australia since the festival began – will make it as unforgettable for us as it will be for the fans."
