The annual punk-rock community mecca returns to Canberra this November

Canberra's annual punk-rock mecca Gingerfest, being held for its third year in 2016, has announced the line-up of esteemed acts set to pay tribute to the life of 'Ginger Ninja' Nicky Sofer-Schreiber, with the way led by the legends in Clowns and Grenadiers.

Clowns will hit Gingerfest fresh on the heels of a hectic li'l Aussie tour in support of new single Destroy The Evidence, which itself followed a run of shows across Europe and the UK, while Grenadiers have been keeping a pretty dang packed calendar themselves, the latest entry in which comes in the form of their announcement atop the bill for WA's inaugural Hot Freaks festival.

Also aboard for this November's revelry are local faves Lamexcuse, stalwart Sydneysiders Batfoot, ska-punk luminaries Chris Duke & The Royals, acoustic troubadours Tom & Russell, Queanbeyan rockers Vee Bees, the frenetic Sketch Method and comedian Nick Cody.

Gingerfest held its inaugural event in 2014 following the murder of Sofer-Schreiber, a beloved figure of the Canberra-and-surrounds punk scene, the previous year. His killer, Christopher Navin, was sentenced to 12 years in prison back in May.
