Chronixx Announces December Australian Shows

18 August 2014 | 12:02 pm | Staff Writer

The 'Dread & Terrible' mastermind will be here for the briefest of tours at year's end

Prodigious Jamaican performer Chronixx has announced that he, alongside his backing band Zincfence Redemption, will be giving Aussie audiences a chance to find out up close and personal just why he’s been praised as a reggae revolutionary around the world when they touch down for a pair of shows in Melbourne and Sydney this December.

Proudly presented by The Music, Chronixx will take to the Espy stage on Thursday, December 11, and the Factory Theatre the next evening, Friday, December 12. It’s a massively limited run of shows, and, given the hype behind this swiftly rising Caribbean crooner, tickets are likely to go in a flash.

Although he’s been kicking around for the better part of the past four years – a debut EP in 2010, a Major Lazer-backed mixtape in 2012 – the 21-year-old upstart shot to widespread prominence following the April release of his acclaimed full-length Dread & Terrible.

That release appropriately lends its name to his concurrent world tour, on which he’s been casually strolling from achievement to achievement, from selling out his gigs to playing at Central Park’s SummerStage and earning a spot as a guest on US late-night TV.
