Chris Pickering Releases New Album 'Canyons'

We've been waiting two years since Chris Pickering's last EP Corners, and our patience is paying dividends in the Melbourne-based songwriter's new full-length Canyons.

As hinted by the digital release of the title track last year, Canyons blends classic pop trappings and atmospheric desert rock in a triumph of melody and lyricism - packed with psychedelic pedal steel, keys and driving rhythm.

Pickering has also announced some album launch shows to go with the release. Melbourne fans can see the man himself at The Gasometer, 28 Aug, with Darling James and On Diamond. Brisbanites can catch the show at The Milk Factory, 23 Sep, with support from Silent Feature Era.
