Sydney rapper Chillinit has issued an apology following an incident which last week resulted in his arrest and the cancellation of his show.

The incident in question occurred in Evans Head, NSW on Friday, January 2nd, where the rapper was visiting as part of his All Aussie Adventures regional tour. Ahead of his scheduled performance at Club Evans that evening, NSW Police were reportedly called to the premises, where he was then trespassed by attending officers.

A statement issued by police claimed that after refusing to leave premises as instructed, he was transported to Ballina Police Station where he was charged with “excluded person fail to leave premises when required and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.” He was granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in court on February 12th.

The venue itself issued a statement noting they were “extremely disappointed” that the performance did not take place as planned. “Please know this situation was entirely outside of the Club’s control, and we truly share in the disappointment felt by everyone who was looking forward to the show,” they wrote.

Taking to social media the day following the incident, Chillinit shared an apology for the events of January 2nd.

“The grown man iv become though knows my mistake was drinking, after doing so well fighting that demon some tough times led me back to the bottle and led me to I was last night,” he wrote.

“I don't remember about 6 hours,” he added. “HOWEVER, the police followed me to the venue to stop the show from going on, i hadn't committed a crime at the venue they just wanted to throw me out for being pissed (due to my hotel also throwing me out) I begged them that I'm under contract and need to do the show you are only hurting the fans not me.

“But they didn't care or listen,” he continued. “Unless there's a charge tour laying on me you can't just come kick me out of my own show. Which then led to ‘resisting arrest’.”

Chillinit also echoed the venue’s response that patrons will be refunded for the show not going ahead. “I'm sorry that I was unable to come out here for you cos that's my main goal every night,” he concluded.
