As Chasing Ghosts get ready to release their forthcoming Therapy album, they’ve shared a double-drop – releasing new single Chamomile Tea alongside a run of national tour dates.
Chamomile Tea is the latest single taken from Therapy, which arrives on May 16th as the Naarm/Melbourne indie punk outfit’s first large-scale body of work from the group since 2021’s Homelands EP.
The single itself follows on from the likes of Amnesia Everybody, Ten Feet Tall, and My Bingayi in recent months. Already these songs have seen the band confront darker and more confronting topics, and true to form, the nascent track is no stranger to addressing some uncomfortable themes head-on.
“Chamomile Tea is a tongue in cheek take on a time in my life that was very dark,” frontman, songwriter, and Thungutti man Jimmy Kyle explains. “It’s about struggling with Insomnia from stress and anxiety, created by an endless stream of thoughts coupled with self-medicating behaviours and the emotional impact spilling out into my personal and professional relationships.”
Alongside the release of their latest single, Chasing Ghosts have also unveiled the dates of their Therapy Australian tour, which launches in June with support from Brisbane alt-rock outfit The Comfort and Melbourne pop punk band Cordiform.
The tour kicks off at The Australian Adelaide on June 6th, before hitting up Ballarat, Melbourne, and Sydney, and wraps up in Brisbane at Greaser on June 14th. Tickets to the forthcoming shows are on sale now.
