The recently announced maiden Electro Circus festival in Sydney this September is swiftly taking shape, with organisers unveiling this year's full line-up of acts today, with the way led by renowned Aussie electro duo Carmada.
Consisting of Drew Carmody (L D R U) and Max Armata (Yahtzel), Carmada have stormed their way into the popular consciousness over the past 12 months together, hitting charts and festivals alike with the kind of casual aplomb and assuredness befitting more experienced partnerships — but, then again, with their debut EP Realise rocketing straight to #1 on the iTunes Albums Chart upon release, it's not like they're inexperienced slouches to begin with.
Joining Carmada on this year's bill are renowned LA-bred two-piece Gladiator, made up of US musos Daniel Goodman and Ian Johnson, Melburnian mainstay Joel Fletcher, global dance-music juggernaut Alex M.O.R.P.H., American DJ Dotcom, Argentine duo Heatbeat and many more — see the base of the story for the full rundown.
The fully dedicated indoor Trapeze Stage will bring a bass and trap affront to fans of the genres, while the Trance stage will see hours of trance being partied to, too.
The first Electro Circus event comes to Sydney's Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, 5 September, stretching across three stages for a one-day dance-party extravaganza. Limited early-bird tickets — priced at a meek $75 — will drop at 9am this coming Tuesday, 9 June, for 24 hours or until allocation is exhausted. General release will follow at 9am Wednesday, 10 June, via the event's website.
