It goes down at a new venue this October
Shining a spotlight on independent Australian music, the ninth annual Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards is set to go down at the heritage-listed North Melbourne Meat Market on Wednesday 8 October.
Relocating for the first time in three years and once again coordinated by the Australian Independent Record Labels Association, this year’s nominees will be announced in the coming weeks, as well as guest presenters and who’ll be performing on the night.
With Vance Joy and Flume cleaning up at last year’s awards, as well as King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard taking out the Carlton Dry Global Music Grant – the 2015 edition of which is currently accepting applications – this year will no doubt follow suit.
To be eligible for their respective categories, artists must have released material between 1 August 2013 and 31 July 2014, and said material must be owned by the artist or an independent Australian label.
