Camp Cope have today confirmed they have pulled out of an upcoming US tour with Virginia band, Turnover.

The move comes after Turnover parted ways with former guitarist Eric Soucy last year due to allegations of emotional abuse.

As Alt Press reported, the band confirmed it would continue without Soucy "for the foreseeable future" following the allegations.

"The band agreed this was the best course of action to accept responsibility for this behavior and to help Eric make personal changes in how he manages his interpersonal relationships," the band said in a statement posted to Facebook last June.

"We are sorry for not addressing this publicly earlier on. We wanted to address the issue directly with Eric in a private space but now realize this wasn't the right way to go about things. We stand with victims of abuse - always. We are working hard to find real solutions to these issues that force all people in these situations to address their actions and to accept accountability and responsibility for them."

Camp Cope announced this morning that they won't be embarking on the March tour "due to personal reasons" and are working on new US dates.

Camp Cope declined to comment when contacted by The Music.

The news comes after the Melbourne trio took a stand at the recent Falls Festival events, calling out organisers for the lack of female talent on the line-up, as well as supporting victims of sexual assault at festivals through the creation of a custom t-shirt which read, "The person wearing this shirt stands against sexual assault and demands a change".

Falls acts such as Alex Lahey, Ecca Vandal and Stella Donnelly were spotted wearing the shirt during their own sets, as well as members of DZ Death Rays, Dune Rats, Luca Brasi, Total Giovanni, Thundamentals, Bad//Dreems and Winston Surfshirt.

Meanwhile, Camp Cope will embark on a headline tour of Australia in the coming months in support of their highly-anticipated second album, How To Socialise & Make Friends, due out Friday 2 March; click on theGuide for a look at all of the venues and dates.
