After twenty years of writing, recording, and touring, Busby Marou are celebrating the milestone anniversary.

Today, Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou have announced their expansive 20 Years: 20 Gigs tour, marking an exclusive, national touring celebration of two of Australia’s finest artists. The tour commemorates two decades of friendship, music, and an incredible independent career.

The tour is deliberately intimate, designed to journey across Australia’s regional heartland and replicate the duo’s humble beginnings.

Busby Marou’s full story will be captured at their shows, from the early songs to the hits, deep cuts, and more, with some unscripted magic set to make every punter feel special. No extra shows will be added to the itinerary.

The 20 Years: 20 Gigs tour commences with an appearance at Legends of the Lawn in Mackay on Saturday, 30 May. From there, Busby Marou will head to Bribie Island, Kings Beach, D’Aguilar, Mullumbimby, Toowoomba, Ipswich, Cleveland, Biloela, Wooli, Ballina, Geelong, Albury, Townsville, Rockhampton, Mareeba, Duncraig, and conclude at Fremantle’s Freo.Social on Saturday, 12 December.

Two shows taking place between their Toowoomba and Ipswich dates will be announced soon. Tickets to the tour are now available—find them on Busby Marou’s website. The dates and venues are listed below.

“I think about where we started, playing to a handful of people in pubs in regional Queensland, and then I look at where we’ve ended up, and I just feel grateful,” Tom Busby said. “These 20 gigs are for the people who built this with us.”

Jeremy Marou added, “Twenty years with your best mate, playing music for people who actually love it—there’s nothing better than that. I want these shows to feel like a genuine celebration of the songs, the road and everyone who’s been a part of it.”

Since their beginnings as two men with guitars in Rockhampton, Busby Marou have come a long way. They’ve taken their music on the road in a van, playing to pub and club audiences across regional Australia before people in the cities learned their names.

Busby Marou have since accomplished plenty: five ARIA Top Five albums, including a #1 Australian Album, five APRA Awards for Song of the Year, millions of streams, and national tours.

Plus, they’ve opened for Elton John, Dolly Parton, Cold Chisel, Paul Kelly, James Blunt, and Alan Jackson, among others, remaining true to themselves as their wildest dreams came true.
