The New York-based creative will perform two standalone shows as well as a festival spot in a couple of months
Acclaimed experimental musician Julianna Barwick has announced a whirlwind visit to Australia set for this October, when she'll perform two headline shows — one each in Brisbane and Sydney — along with her appearance at the impending Melbourne Festival.
Barwick will kick off her local foray at the event, performing on Wednesday 12 and Friday 14 October, before spending the weekend up north, first at Brisbane's Junk Bar, then Newtown Social Club, in Sydney.
The visit comes in the wake of her recently released third studio album, Will, which arrived back in May to wide praise and helped catapult her to a tour spot with Sigur Ros, recording and performing with the Flaming Lips, playing piano and singing with Yoko Ono, and generally engaging in other impressive activities to make you jealous about how she spends her days.
Will is available now on Barwick's Bandcamp page.
