Brissy Upstarts Hound Announce New Single, Tour Dates

The Queenslanders will be heading out for a slew of dates down the east coast from early March

Vibrant punk outfit Hound have been solidly making waves among the Brisbane alternative scenes since they first dropped a demo back in mid-2013, their frenetic energy an impossible-to-deny spectacle that has led them to their present position as proud purveyors of new single God Is Calling with a raft of east-coast dates to boot.

The track is taken from the band's forthcoming debut studio full-length Dying In The Sun, and comes hot on the heels of a number of successful support slots for the likes of The Coathangers and local heroes ScotDrakula, as well as earlier stints with DZ Deathrays, The Love Junkies and Drunk Mums, plus being among the inaugural cabal of acts to grace last year's tri-city The Blurst Of Times festival. Oh, yeah, they supported Killing Joke the night they launched that initial demo, too, so it's all been pretty flashy from the get-go.

This year stands to be no different — from Friday, 6 March, when they hit Melbourne's Bar 303, the band is taking in a comprehensive jaunt down the east coast, taking time to appear at the Brunswick Hotel's Spotfest as well as two additional dates in Melbourne (one at the Bendigo Hotel, one at the Old Bar), plus a show each in Toowoomba and Brisbane, and stops in Sydney and Wollongong, where they wrap it all up at the RAD Bar on Saturday, 21 March.

The band haven't made the new goods freely available yet, but you can acquaint yourself with an earlier slice of their work, then hit theGuide or see The Music App to suss booking details for Hound's impending tour.
