Brissy Indie-Rockers Big Bad Echo Drop New Video Ahead Of EP Launch

24 February 2016 | 3:29 pm | Staff Writer

The Qld outfit are celebrating their debut extended player with a pair of shows over the next week

Here comes the Ice Breaker — the video clip for the first song from Brisbane indie-rockers Big Bad Echo has been released just in time for their EP launch at home tomorrow.

The video, filled with splashing, drowning, and some very pensive doormat purchasing, complements the pounding drums, thrumming guitars, and lyrics filled with longing.

Ice Breaker has recieved a lot of love from triple j since its recent unveiling, with the song receiving heavy rotation on Unearthed to a chorus of praise from presenters such as Dave Ruby Howe and Dom Alessio.

The track marks the first song from the band's debut EP, It Takes A Big Dog To Weigh A Tonne, which is set to be released on 26 February.

In honour of their inaugural work, Big Bad Echo are embarking on a two-date tour from tomorrow night, when they launch the EP at Black Bear Lodge.

From there, the band head down to Sydney town for a gig at the Oxford Art Factory on Friday 4 March.

These are but taster performances from a band undeniably on an upwards shot towards truly great things, so we'd recommend jumping in at the ground floor before they inevitably start dominating the airwaves and popping up on more and more posters around the country.

Tickets for both gigs are available through various outlets; check theGuide or The Music App for all your tasty deets.
