Aussie hip hop artist Briggs has curated some of the most respected First Nations writers and creatives from around the world for the first-ever SongHubs First Nations program.
Presented by APRA AMCOS and the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria, SongHubs First Nations will bring together a string of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori, and Pasifika songwriters and musicians for four days of collaboration, with Briggs to curate the writing, producing, and recording sessions at Melbourne's Abbey Road Institute.
Confirmed to take part in the collaboration includes Peru electro-pop star Renata Flores, Minnesota hip hop artist Tufawon, local acts Alice Skye and Birdz and Deadly Award-winning songwriter Naomi Wenitong.
"I am honoured to be bringing together some of the world’s most captivating First Nations artists to collaborate on new songs with the talent that is on the rise here in the Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori and Pasifika music communities," Briggs said.
"SongHubs First Nations is going to be an intensely inspiring four days in the studio at Abbey Road Institute."
Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori, and Pasifika artists who have recently released music or are working on upcoming projects are encouraged to apply to participate in the program.
