Over 100 Artists, Actors & More Come Out In Support Of Lorde's Axed Tel Aviv Show

“We support Lorde’s right to take a stand.”

More Lorde Lorde

Over one hundred artists, including the likes of Brian Eno, John Cusack and Peter Gabriel, have signed an open letter in support of Lorde cancelling her planned show in Tel Aviv.

The letter, which was first published in The Guardian, applauds the young singer for cancelling the show while also chastising author and Breitbart contributor, Shmuley Boteach, for running a full page advertisement in the Washington post branding the popstar a bigot.

“He has nothing to teach artists about human rights. We deplore the bullying tactics being used to defend injustice against Palestinians and to suppress an artist’s freedom of conscience,” the statement details.

“We support Lorde’s right to take a stand.”

Lorde is yet to speak publically on social media about her decision with the singer telling promoters, "I think the right decision at this time is to cancel the show."

Other signers of the open letter include TV on the Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe, Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello as well as actors Mark Ruffalo and Viggo Mortensen. The full list of signers is available here.
