He evidently enjoyed himself so much last year that he had to do it again in 2017

Globally renowned performer Boy George will return to Australian shores to echo his performance at last year's Vivid Sydney event with another DJ set for a group of lucky punters in a couple of months' time.

The one-off, intimate showing will take place atop Cafe Del Mar, in Darling Harbour, as part of an all-star line-up of acts that will keep the beat alive from midday on Sunday 11 June, including Kate Monroe, Beth Yen, Mark Dynamix, Rodd Riches (ft Arrnott Olssen), Binary Live and Charlie & Jo.

The man of the hour is mega-keen to get back Down Under, saying in a statement that he sees Sydney as "like a second home".

"I can’t wait to return and spin some of my favourite tracks at Café del Mar with the spectacular lights and pyrotechnics of Vivid Sydney shining behind me," Boy George said in a statement.

Tickets are on sale now, and were limited to only 500 for 2016's sold-out rooftop party, so expect a similar degree of exclusivity — not to mention bountiful interest — this year.

"We're excited to have Boy George, a superstar of such high calibre, returning to Vivid Music for an incredible night of music and dancing overlooking Sydney’s iconic waterfront," Vivid Music curator Stephen Ferris said in a statement.

"This event was a sellout in 2016 and fans will need to get in quick to secure their chance to see Boy George spin the decks with his unique style of house music at this one-off, exclusive event."
