Perfect timing given British pop icons Culture Club are in town next week for a huge tour, the act's enigmatic frontman Boy George has announced that he will be playing a super-exclusive DJ set as part of the Vivid Sydney festival.

Limited to only 500 tickets and held on the rooftop of Cockle Bay Wharf's Cafe Del Mar against the stunning sights of the light festival, Boy George says, "I’m so excited to be performing alongside these amazing Sydney light shows. I’ve seen the photography from across the globe so it’s going to be a special moment for me."

Vivid Music's curator Stephen Ferris added, "Boy George is universally recognised as one of the world’s most iconic pop artists. It is exciting to add this internationally acclaimed artist to the diverse and comprehensive Vivid Music line-up."

The freshly-minted June 12 event adds to a smorgasbord of music performances, panels, art installations and more already slated in for the three-week-long light, music and ideas festival.
