Melbourne's Bombay Rock Has Closed

Melbourne venue Bombay Rock has closed. 

The closure of the Brunswick music venue and bar was announced via a statement on social media today, saying that "Bombay Rock has closed its doors effective immediately". See the full post below. 

It's yet to be confirmed why the venue is closing. 

There are currently shows scheduled for acts including Avalanche, Galaxy, I Am Duckeye and more throughout December.

Bombay Rock saw acts including INXS, Cold Chisel, The Angels, Skyhooks and more play there early in their career, with the venue operating from the late '70s until it closed in 1991 due to a fire. 

It reopened under the Bombay Rock name in July last year.
