Blur, one of the most iconic, influential and enduring Brit-pop bands, have confirmed details of their first album in 12 years this morning.

It’s been a long time between drinks for the band – who almost made it to Australia for Big Day Out but then didn’t last year – and The Magic Whip will be released 24 April. It's the first studio album the band have offered since 2003's Think Tank.

In that time frontman Damon Albarn has been busy, however, with a solo record, albums with Gorilaz, and various other collaborative projects.

Available for pre-order now, the band have released new track Go Out this morning as well.
