"We are optimistic that our grounds will dry out, and our site will be ready to welcome you."

Bluesfest has confirmed for the second time that their festival will be moving forward despite flooding in the region.

Flash flooding has ravished the northern rivers region over the past week, including affecting the Bluesfest festival site. Despite this, the festival has stated that no significant damage occurred.

The event is set to take place across the Easter Long Weekend from Thursday the 14th to Monday the 18th of April and will feature a near all Australian line-up including Crowded House, Paul Kelly, Midnight Oil, Amy Sharl, Morcheeba and more.

Bluesfest director Peter Noble stated, “Some car parks and camping grounds did experience flash flooding but the water is subsiding quickly.

"The load-in continues, the tents are ready to be raised,  and with less than two weeks to go before we open our gates, the forward weather report is good, with plenty of sun forecast daily. We are optimistic that our grounds will dry out, and our site will be ready to welcome you.

"Bluesfest lovers please note, ALL our stages and food halls will be under big canvas tent tops.”

Noble also released a statement at the beginning of March, highlighting the importance of the festival in supporting the heavily effected region.

“It needs you,” he said. “And a way of showing your support is by turning up. Our community needs to continue to work to get through this situation and beyond it.

"Just by coming to our region and showing support through buying food from businesses both at the festival, and locally in the area, staying in accomodation, and taking part in all the other things our region has to offer, you will be helping so many people get through this time.”
