Australian singer-songwriter Didirri has revealed that he and fellow artist Rowena Wise had $16,000 worth of musical equipment stolen from their home while they were on tour.

“When Rowena and I got back from tour—which we had a great time, thank you to everyone who came—we discovered that we had been robbed,” Didirri said in a video posted to Instagram on Monday (11 August).

He added that their friend, who was staying at their house, was allegedly “conned” into letting someone stay over. That person ended up stealing the musical equipment, including keyboards, microphones, guitar pedals, and cameras, among other items.

Didirri also admitted that the equipment was uninsured, which is why he felt uncomfortable asking people to contribute to a GoFundMe.

He did, however, share a link with more information about the items stolen, which you can see here, and he and Rowena Wise have sales active on Bandcamp if fans would like to support them during this time.

“If you see it [the stolen equipment] around town, please let us know immediately,” Didirri continued. “A lot of people have said, ‘Would you like to start a GoFundMe?’ We didn’t have insurance. So, I don’t feel comfortable setting one of those up because it’s not anyone else’s fault.”

He concluded, “If you’re a creative, please get insurance. But if you’d like to support us, we’ve both put merchandise up on our Bandcamp, and you can buy old merch there and pay what you want for it. My heart’s full with the community outpour so far, and I’m sure it’s only going to be more from here, so thank you.”

Didirri captioned the post, “Last week, when we got home from tour, we discovered that we had been robbed of $16,000 worth of our equipment. This has been really hard to deal with, and if you see any of the equipment around Town, please let us know. There is a link in our bios to the equipment and to our Bandcamp where you can support us if you’d like.”

Didirri & Rowena Wise are set to appear at the upcoming Town Folk Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival this November. We hope their musical equipment is found soon, and you can support the pair on Bandcamp.
