Bluesfest Busking Comp Finalists To Be Revealed This Month

The winner will perform at the massive event in April

More Bluesfest Bluesfest Profile
The winners for the Bluesfest Busking Comp will be revealed soon, with the finals held in Byron Bay at the end of this month.

In the lead up to the annual blues and roots festival, musicians from across Australia have performed around Byron Bay. The busking competition allows unsigned artists to showcase their talents to Australian audiences and take their careers to the next level.

The finals for this year’s competition will be held at the Beach Hotel in Byron Bay kicking off from midday, 30 Mar and continuing through till 31 Mar. The prize for the open winner includes a stage position at Bluesfest. As part of the busking experience last year, there were more than 50 Roaming Busking and Busking Stage performances, including a surprise performance from Passenger.

Big names announced for this year’s festival include The Black Keys, Angus & Julia Stone, Boy & Bear, Jurassic 5, Counting Crows, Hozier, Jimmy Cliff and many more. Last year’s competition winners, Eddie Boyd & The Phatapillars, will return to the Bluesfest stage, having just released their first EP.

Make sure to check out the Busking Stage at the festival and if you’re around Byron 30-31 Mar, catch some of the inspiring talent at the comp’s finals.

Tickets to the festival are still available and you can find the info in theGuide and The Music App, as well as the Festivals page.
