Alongside international heavyweights
Renowned Aussie event Bluesfest and local legend Michael Chugg have once again been nominated for Pollstar awards, alongside Coachella, Ed Sheeran and a number of other industry heavyweights.
The 29th Annual Pollstar Awards will happen February 8 in LA and sees Bluesfest vying for International Music Festival Of The Year, while Chugg is in the race for International Promoter Of The Year.
This is Bluesfest’s sixth consecutive Pollstar nomination and eighth in total, with Glastonbury, Primavera Sound and more also named in the same category this year.
“It continues to amaze us that a boutique festival - with a capacity of 25k people daily over our five days continues to be nominated against festivals who have capacities of up to 200k people,” Bluesfest Executive Director Peter Noble said.

“I would like to salute all the artists who played Bluesfest in 2017, the artists who have played over the past 29 years and especially all the people who have worked on the event to make it what it is…take a bow.”
The Pollstar nomination coincides with the festival scoring a Keeping The Blues Alive Award from The Blues Foundation in Memphis Tennessee, after this year hosting the likes of Patti Smith, Santana, Buddy Guy, Mavis Staples and more.
Chugg beat a number of major international promoters last year to take out Pollstar Live’s International Promoter Of The Year, and is now up against Live Nation UK, SJM and more.
