Brace yourself for 'Brace'

More Birds Of Tokyo More Birds Of Tokyo

Having unveiled news of their upcoming album, Brace, at a media preview event in September, Birds Of Tokyo have announced their first national tour in over a year in support of the brand new record.

The album — which is notably heavier than their most recent efforts — has already spawned a title track that's picking up heaps of spins on triple j.

The band's frontman Ian Kenny explains, "When we were writing and recording we kept talking about how we wanted to make a really dark and intense rock record that would be great to play live.

"So we can't wait to finally crank out these new songs as well as lots of others at some gigs."

The band will be bringing support acts Strangers and Introvert along for the tour, which kicks off in Perth on 17 November, before heading to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Wollongong until 17 December.

Brace is due for release on 4 November.
