“Extremely gutted to have to do this.”
Set to wrap their Aussie album tour tonight in Perth, Canadian rock punk favourites Billy Talent have cancelled the final show on the Afraid Of Heights tour due to frontman Benjamin Kowalewicz suffering an illness that cut their Adelaide set short last night.
The band took to Facebook this morning following a show in Adelaide to let punters who attended know they weren’t able to give them “the full Billy Talent experience” after burning out from the flu.
“We tried our best; but want you to know that we will be back and when we do we're going to make it up to you some how. Keep your ticket stubs.... They may come in handy," Billy Talent said.
The Music Adelaide contributor Will Oakeshott reports that Kowalewicz became progressively worse throughout the show, telling fans numerous times his fever were worsening as he become more withdrawn throughout the set, before the band left the stage and didn't return for an encore, ending the show 20 minutes earlier than scheduled.

Two hours after Billy Talent's statement about Adelaide, they followed up with a post cancelling tonight’s show at Capitol.
“Extremely gutted to have to do this but due to illness we will have to regrettably cancel our show tonight in Perth,” they said.
“All tickets purchased will be refunded. Promise that we will make it up to you. Thank you for your understanding.”
Billy Talent’s new record, Afraid Of Heights, is out now.
