“I grew up listening to Billy Joel. His songbook is a big part of the soundtrack of my life."
As if Billy Joel’s one-night-only Australian show wasn’t exciting enough already, Australian legend Tina Arena has been added to the bill.
Arena will open proceedings for Joel’s history-making performance at the MCG on Saturday 10 December.
“I grew up listening to Billy Joel,” Arena noted. “His songbook is a big part of the soundtrack of my life so I really look forward to being a part of this extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime event. You don’t want to miss this show.”
The concert is presented by Frontier Touring in partnership with ALWAYS LIVE, a state-wide celebration and initiative that supports contemporary live music by the Victorian Government.
When it was announced last week, Joel said: “I’m happy to announce that I’m finally coming to Australia to do one exclusive show at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as part of ALWAYS LIVE.
