Billie Eilish has surprise-dropped two new songs.

The two new songs TV and The 30th arrive packaged together under the title Guitar Songs.

The first new music from Eilish since her Grammy-nominated 2021 album Happier Than Ever, both songs are as the title suggests, guitar-based compositions, with intimate vocals, accompanied by gentle acoustic guitar work.

Lyrically, both songs serve up unfiltered emotion, reflecting on broken relationships. TV’s heartbreaking chorus of All of my friends are missing again/That's what happens when you fall in love/You don't have the time, you leave them all behind/You tell yourself it's fine, you're just in love, a candidate for one of the most insightful and impactful lyrics of the Gen-Z pop-icons career.

Eilish provided a statement with the release, explaining what inspired the sudden release, which comes only a month after TV made its live debut at a Manchester concert

“Finneas and I really wanted these to be yours as soon as possible. So here they are!! Performing TV on tour was such a highlight for us too, so we took the audio from the first night we played it in Manchester and put it in the song. I get shivers every time I hear it. Hope you love the songs and thank you for letting us share our music with you."

In May, Eilish shared her experience living with Tourette syndrome, with the global pop star talking it in an unfiltered manner with David Letterman on My Guest Needs No Introduction. The chat with Letterman came after Eilish lived out one of many musos' biggest dreams, by appearing in a mini-episode of The Simpsons.

Titled When Billie Met Lisa, the short's official synopsis reads: "In When Billie Met Lisa, Lisa Simpson is discovered by chart-topping artists Billie Eilish and FINNEAS while searching for a quiet place to practice her saxophone. Billie invites Lisa to her studio for a special jam session she’ll never forget."
