20 June 2019 | 12:30 pm | Staff Writer

76 of the 150 artists have been announced.

It's set to be another huge year for BIGSOUND, with the industry summit and festival today revealing the first artists for the 2019 showcase line-up.

Joining this year's event will be acts including Electric Fields (who impressed at this year's APRA Awards), LOSER, Spacey Jane, Tones & I (who just signed a deal with Paradigm Talent Agency), Bad//Dreems, Laura Imbruglia, DRMNGNOW, The Money War, PINCH POINTS and more. This first announcement includes 76 acts of a total 150 that will showcase at the 2019 event. See the full line-up below.

In addition to the artist announcement, BIGSOUND have also shared that this year will see the introduction of the Artist Village, which will give artists a place to rehearse, network and relax throughout the festival from 10am-4pm each day. It includes free wifi, a live stream of conferences, workshops, mental health counsellors, interview spaces and more.

"The BIGSOUND Artist Village has turned our festival up to eleven with this game-changing initiative designed to look after showcasing artists," says newly announced QMusic CEO Angela Samut

"The Artist Village was announced to all showcasing artists and was fully booked in 24 hours with a wait list. We look forward to welcoming BIGSOUND artists to the Village where they can relax, rehearse and with the potential to form new collaborations."

BIGSOUND's app has also received an update, with the ability to now create personalised discovery playlists for each user based on their favourite artists, listening history and genre preferences.

The line-up news comes just weeks after BIGSOUND announced their first round of speakers and buyers for the event, which includes Nettwerk Music Group CEO and co-founder Terry McBride, Radio 1 & BBC Music Introducing's Abbie McCarthy, Sub Pop Records' Bekah Zietz Flynn, Live Nation UK/Download Festival's Kamran Haq, Mom + Pop Music's Suzanna Slavin and more.

It was also revealed in April that BIGSOUND would now be based out of the Cloudland venue, moving away from its usual home of the Judith Wright Centre, for the first time.

BIGSOUND 2019 takes place in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley from 3-6 September. Tickets for this year's conference and festival go on sale from 9am Thursday 27 June, head to the BIGSOUND website for all the info and check out the first artist announce below.
