BIGSOUND Announces First Round Of Speakers & Buyers For 2019 Event

"BIGSOUND has been on my to-do list for many years."

This year's BIGSOUND is edging closer and closer and today comes the first announcement for the 2019 line-up, with the event today announcing their first round of international speakers and buyers.

Nettwerk Music Group CEO and co-founder Terry McBride is the first announced keynote speaker for this year's event. Nettwerk is home to Canada’s largest independent record label, artist management and music publishing company, and has worked with the likes of Coldplay, Sarah McLachlan, Dido and and more.

"BIGSOUND has been on my to-do list for many years and it’s so exciting to come back to Australia and to check out potential new acts for the Nettwerk Roster," shares McBride.

"Everybody thinks Nettwerk is an Australian label, after all we have 17 Artists from Australia/New Zealand signed already. The fact is we are lovers of good music and data. When you combine those two things together then you understand the power of music and its ability to create a community that goes beyond physical borders.

"Australia is a big part of that global community and BIGSOUND is where the world goes to discover Australian music."

"Australia has a global reputation for being at the forefront of new music in the southern hemisphere and BIGSOUND is where the music community comes for connection," says BIGSOUND programmer Tom Larkin.

"With this announcement we're really pleased to help facilitate major opportunities for attending artists and their teams. This year’s buyers are arriving here armed with the expectation that the conversations they begin here will define the future of Music on a worldwide level."

BIGSOUND will take over Brisbane's Fortitude Valley from 3-6 September - this year shifting its hub to the Cloudland venue - with artist applications now extended to 16 May.
