Congrats, COPYCATT!

Musicians all over the country were thrown back to their childhood when triple j announced a competition calling for artists to create a remix to the iconic theme song of children's program, Play School and today a winner has finally been announced.

Over 600 artists put forward submissions to the triple J Unearthed competition but after careful deliberation, the winner has this morning been announced as Brisbane producer COPYCATT (Andre Butterworth).

The 19-year-old apprentice roofer was announced as the winner as "his tune is clever, catchy and successfully captures the Play School spirit while creating a completely new, playful track that sounds great on the radio".

Speaking on triple j's breakfast show Matt & Alex this morning, Butterworth admitted that the finished product was completely different to how he started the project.

"I actually wrote out the chords wrong, but it kind of sounded good? And that's how the remix got started," Butterworth said.

"I was intending to do something harder and darker because that's how most of my music usually sounds, but obviously I'm stoked with what's happened."

Butterworth will now head to Sydney to visit the Play School set to coincide with the show's 50th anniversary, while he will also take part in a one-on-one workshop with fellow producer KLP.
