Big Scary Member Launches Second Record Label, First Two Signees Announced

Jo Syme is keeping herself suuuper busy

More Big Scary Big Scary

Already running Pieater Records with bandmate Tom Iansek, Big Scary's other half Jo Syme has launched another new record label, this one called Hotel Motel Records.

DIstributed via Inertia Music, Syme says Hotel Motel has no genre restrictions — it's simply everything she loves.

"I had an incredibly inspiring musical year in 2016. Not so much with my own writing, but with what my friends around me were making. Where Pieater’s involvement is very in-depth and career-focused, I wanted a platform where I could say ‘OK, this music is incredible and it’s not right for Pieater, but I want to give it the best shot possible of being heard’.

"So, I guess it’s meant to be an easier decision to make to work with someone: if it’s recorded, and it’s great; and I have the time, then I can help," Syme explains.

Hotel Motel have announced the first two acts on the brand new roster — electronic duo Orlean, comprised of Terry Mann and Bella Li, and Tasmanian band Quivers.

Both bands have released singles for your perusal. Orlean have debuted Faster, while Quivers have released Ridin' On The Hearses.
