American pop singer Bebe Rexha was rushed off the stage on Sunday night (18 June) when a phone was hurled at her face. Performing on the Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York, the incident occurred while the Stars singer was singing her last song of the night for her Best F’n Night of My Life tour.
According to video footage from the concert, Rexha was seen visibly falling to her knees and clutching her face. Her team then helped her off the stage, and a scheduled meet and greet was cancelled.
NME and The Washington Post report that the alleged attacker has already been arrested. 27-year-old New Jersey man Nicolas Malvagna was arrested the night after he “intentionally threw a cellphone,” police stated.
The Twitter account Pop Crave also claimed that Rexha had received stitches following the incident. “Bebe Rexha was taken to a hospital after being struck in the head by a fan’s phone at her show,” Pop Crave tweeted. “Her mom confirmed the singer is getting stitches for the wound.”
Yesterday, Rexha revealed that she was okay. Taking to TikTok and singing David Guetta’s nostalgic new hit she stars on, I’m Good (Blue), she took off her sunglasses and showed her bruised eye. The caption reads, “I’m okay you guys.”
On Friday, 28 April, Bebe Rexha released her highly anticipated third album, Bebe.

The album follows her 2021 record, Better Mistakes, which featured collaborations with Travis Barker, Doja Cat, and Lil Uzi Vert.
Bebe also includes the chart mainstay and Grammy-nominated single, I’m Good (Blue) with David Guetta, and Snoop Dogg appears on Satellite and Dolly Parton on Seasons.
“I lie awake inside a dream, and I run, run, run away from me," Rexha and Parton harmonise in the chorus. "The seasons change right under my feet; I’m still the same, same, same — same old me.”
Bebe Rexha is slated to perform in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, today. You can listen to Bebe here.
