"This is the proudest moment of my career"- Mike Judge
Beavis and Butt-Head's appetite for nachos is legendary. So it is quite fitting that the pair of metal-worshipping 90s MTV cartoon icons are now the holders of the Guinness World Record for largest nachos.
The record was achieved at a party for fans of Beavis and Butt-Head that was thrown by streaming network Paramount+.
Held to celebrate the relaunch of the show as Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head the party featured a variety of Beavis and Butt-Head-themed activities, the highlight of which was a gigantic serving of the duo's favourite snack, nachos.
Prior to the event, LA venue Smorgasboard, who hosted the event, declared its intention to break not one, but two records relating to the largest serving of nachos at the event, stating "In 2012, the University of Kansas set the official Guinness World Records™ title for the largest serving of nachos, weighing 4,689 pounds. In 2018, Las Cruces unofficially set the world record for the largest serving of nachos, weighing in at 5,039 pounds and measuring 110 feet long. Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head and Paramount+ will attempt to break BOTH of these records.”
Now confirmation has arrived via Guinness that they managed to do exactly that. The record-setting serving weighed in at 4,870 pounds (2208.995 kgs). A Guinness World Record representative certified the results and awarded the team a plaque reading “the largest serving of nachos was achieved by Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head and Paramount+.” Mike Judge reflected on the record-setting effort stating "this is the proudest moment of my career.”
