International music stars Basement Jaxx, Rita Ora, and Duke Dumont are heading Down Under next month to headline Lakeside Festival, the event held following the action across three days at the Melbourne Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Basement Jaxx, already touring Australia and New Zealand from 27 February to 11 March, will kick off the entertainment with a DJ set on Friday, 6 March. Local openers will join all three headliners, and following the Practice sessions, in-demand DJ dameeeela will warm up the audience.

After the Qualifying sessions on Saturday, 7 March, global pop star Rita Ora will keep the energy going off-track. She’ll be joined by Australian pop-rockers Rogue Traders, led by singer Natalie Bassingthwaighte.

“Formula 1® is pure chaos in the best way," Ora commented in a statement. "There’s nothing like performing with that kind of energy around you, and I can’t wait!”

Rogue Traders’ James Ash added, “The only thing better than the Grand Prix is the Grand Prix in Melbourne. We are beyond excited to take the stage and rock the house to its foundations.”

Closing the race weekend on Sunday, 8 March, is superstar DJ Duke Dumont. His set of chart-toppers will be preceded by Melbourne’s own electronic pop duo SHOUSE, who are set to bring their Collective Ecstasy live show featuring over a dozen vocalists, to Albert Park.

Lakeside Festival marks the live music hub at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit. It’s accessible to all ticket holders, whether you’re sitting at the grandstands or exploring via the Park Pass. Tickets to the Thursday and Friday Formula 1 sessions are still available, while the Saturday and Sunday sessions are completely sold out. You can find the remaining tickets here.

“Lakeside Festival Presented by American Express will be an incredible way to wrap up each day at Albert Park,” said Travis Auld, the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. “Celebrating with international and Australian icons after a full day of on-track action — it truly doesn’t get better than that.”

Last year’s iteration of the Lakeside Festival starred Fatboy Slim, Tones And I, The Living End, Anna Lunoe, Baker Boy, and Spiderbait.
