The Aussie Tracks Barack Obama Had On Repeat This Year

Barack Obama’s highly anticipated Favourite Music of 2021 list has arrived, and he’s keeping his love of Aussie artists alive.

This year, two local acts have scored a spot on the list, including Courtney Barnett with Write A List Of Things To Look Forward To and Genesis Owusu with Gold Chains.

“I've always enjoyed listening to a wide variety of music, so it’s no surprise that I listened to a little bit of everything this year,” Obama said.

“I hope you find a new artist or song to add to your own playlist.”

The two local acts feature alongside The War On Drugs, Little Simz, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Cardi B, Parquet Courts and more.

Obama has previously included Barnett on his playlists multiple times and highlighted Masked Wolf in July, while former First Lady Of The United States Michelle Obama included Sampa The Great and E^ST on her Vol 1: The Michelle Obama Playlist in August last year.
