Barack Obama’s love for homegrown hero Courtney Barnett continues, with the former President including one of her latest cuts on his Best Songs of 2018 list.

Obama was a big fan of 2015 single Elevator Operator, including it on both his workout and summer Spotify playlists in 2016, and has now revealed he's also fond of Barnett’s Need A Little Time.

The single from 2018 LP Tell Me How You Really Feel sits alongside songs from Kurt Vile, Hozier, Janelle Monae, J Cole, Leon Bridges and more.

The list also included Obama’s favourite films and books from 2018, including the likes of Black Panther, Annihilation and BlacKkKlansman.

"As 2018 draws to a close, I’m continuing a favourite tradition of mine and sharing my year-end lists," Obama said.

"It gives me a moment to pause and reflect on the year through the books, movies, and music that I found most thought-provoking, inspiring, or just plain loved.

"It also gives me a chance to highlight talented authors, artists, and storytellers – some who are household names and others who you may not have heard of before."
