Ball Park Music ProfileIt has been a strong week for local debuts on the ARIA Album Chart, as well as Tame Impala going fourth with Lonerism, Brisbane's Ball Park Music have cracked the top ten with their album Museum landing at nine. It's one ahead of the Bee Gees' best of Mythology, which debuted at ten.
As reported earlier, Tame Impala equalled the peak of their debut InnerSpeaker on debut, behind releases by Pink, Birdy and Mumford & Sons, which were unshakable this week. Muse's The 2nd Law dropped to fifth while The Sapphires' soundtrack shot back up to sixth, from last week's 11. The Long Way To The Top compilation debuted at 44.
The top four in the Digital Album Charts mirror the overall Album Chart, with Ball Park Music enjoying fifth there.
It was steady in the ARIA Singles Chart as well, even if Adele was making her presence felt with new single Skyfall – the theme to the new James Bond film – debuting at five. Psy's Gangnam Style retained the top spot, while Guy Sebastian's Battle Scars with Lupe Fiasco regained second spot as One Direction's Live While We're Young plummeted to seven.
Following their whirlwind tour of shenanigans, Steel Panther retain their number one on the Music DVD chart with British Invasion. One Direction's Up All Night – The Live Tour remained at two as The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour entered at three.
