One of South Australia’s most prominent musical outfits are back in a big way, with Bad//Dreems sharing the title track from their newly-announced fifth album, Ultra Dundee.
Released today, the new single follows on from October’s Shadowland, while its Kaius Potter-directed video serves as another instalment in the series of clips which sees frontman Ben Marwe adopting the titular persona of Ultra Dundee.
Both the clip and the song itself further the band's ongoing exploration into the darker side of the Australian psyche – shining a spotlight on the weird, uncomfortably, and occasionally sinister themes that are present within modern Australia.
It’s a theme that has permeated the group’s rich discography, with the underbelly of suburban South Australia finding itself represented through crowd favourites such as Bogan Pride and introspective character profiles like Northern.
The new album, Ultra Dundee, will be the band’s fifth, and is set to arrive on their own Gutto Records label on Friday, March 20th. Pre-orders for the new LP are available now.
Recorded at Mixmasters Studio in their hometown of Adelaide and produced in conjunction with Dan Luscombe, the album is the group’s first since the release of 2023’s ARIA top ten-placing Hoo Ha!, and their first recorded with new bassist Deon Slaviero.

Most recently, Bad//Dreems have spent a large portion of 2025 looking back to the past, heading out on a national tour in support of the tenth anniversary of their Dogs At Bay debut album. With the retrospective shows coming to a close, and support slots for Grinspoon’s 30th anniversary tour also wrapping shortly, the band have detailed a handful of national tour dates alongside the new album’s release.
Supported by longtime friends The Pretty Littles, the Ultra Dundee album tour will kick off on April 18th at Melbourne's Thornbury Theatre, before heading to the Marrickville Bowlo in Sydney on May 1st, and wrapping up at the Brightside Outdoors in Brisbane on May 2nd.
While tickets to those shows are on sale now, a hometown Adelaide show is still to be announced in the near future.
