It’s been a long time coming, but this weekend saw Bad Bunny launch his highly-anticipated pair of Australian shows with an impressive debut in Sydney overnight.

Bad Bunny, aka Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. Recognised as the King of Latin Trap, he has developed an extraordinary career, catapulting Spanish-language rap music to the mainstream like no one else.

Having released his first singles back in 2016, the last decade has resulted in a massive rise for Bad Bunny, with numerous chart-toppers across the world, including four consecutive number ones in the US. The most recent of these, 2025's Debí Tirar Más Fotos, hit the top 20 in Australia, while the single DTMF also gave the acclaimed musician his first appearance in triple j’s Hottest 100 countdown.

Announcing his debut visit to Australia last May, a single date in Sydney soon turned into two shows thanks to massive demand. This demand only increased last month when Bad Bunny appeared as the headliner for the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

Following massive controversy from certain factions of the world, Bad Bunny’s performance was one of the highest-rated of all time, and even featured guest appearances from Shakira and Ricky Martin.

Needless to say, his Saturday performance at Sydney’s ENGIE Stadium was met with massive adulation from his local fanbase, launching with cuts such as LA MuDANZA and BAILE INoLVIDABLE.

Dropping in cuts such as Tití Me Preguntó, and special performances of PIToRRO DE COCO and UN PREVIEW for the Australian crowd, expected favourites such as DTMF, La Canción, and EoO also helped turn the high-profile show into one for the ages.

Following last night’s show, Bad Bunny will return to ENGIE Stadium again tonight – Sunday, 1 March – to do it all again, with remaining tickets on sale now.
