Axl Rose, Billy Corgan and Alanis Morissette honoured their friend, Lisa Marie Presley, at her memorial service yesterday. She passed away on 12 January, aged 54.

Held at Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, Lisa Marie's family and friends memorialised her before she's laid to rest alongside her son, Benjamin, who died by suicide at the age of 27 in 2020.

Billy Corgan, the first performer of the day, played an acoustic rendition of the Adore-era track, Shelia. Upon her passing, Corgan wrote on Instagram, "There is heartbreak and then there is sorrow. This would be sorrow and on more levels than I can count. Please send your prayers out for her family and children at this difficult time. I truly cannot find the words to express how sad this truly is."

Alanis Morissette then performed Rest, a song she also sang at the late Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington's memorial service. A pianist accompanied Morissette for the track she debuted in 2017 but would officially release in 2021. The song was written, "for those of us who struggle with depression and anxiety, isolation, suicidal ideation and the profound despair that mental illness can plunge us into." Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, introduced Morissette.

Axl Rose commented, "I never in a million years imagined being here, singing under these circumstances. I do know Lisa loved her family very much, and was fiercely protective of her father and his legacy." Perched at the piano, he then performed a stunning rendition of the Guns N' Roses classic, November Rain.

Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of "The King" Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley, passed away last week after being rushed to hospital from possible cardiac arrest, TMZ initially reported.

Lisa Marie Presley attended the Golden Globe Awards earlier that week, watching Austin Butler win the Best Actor award for his portrayal of Elvis. She said about his performance, "I really didn’t know what to do with myself after I saw it. I had to take, like, five days to process it because it was so incredible and so spot on and just so authentic."
