HabitsAnyone invested in the music industry, listen up because the Australian Music Vault Talks program has just been announced and it is stacked full of intriguing events.
Running from March right through to June at the Arts Centre Melbourne, the panel discussions will open a running dialog about the music industry and all its ideas, motivations, changes and improvements.
The first in the series of talks will take place in early March and tackle the pressing topic of gender imbalance within the music industry.
Featuring speakers such as Grace Kindellan from the band Wet Lips and Mohini Hillyer from Habits, RMIT’s Dr Catherine Strong and Tracee Hutchinson of the Music Victoria Women’s Advisory Panel, the event will be facilitated by author and journalist Jenny Valentish.
Participants can look forward to future panels on topics such as what it means to be a music fan, teaching music in schools and the intricacies of Australian copyright.
“The Australian Music Vault Talks aim to generate conversation around important issues in the Australian music industry,” Arts Centre Melbourne Creative Learning Producer Amy Bennett said.
“Through dialogue, questioning, sharing opinions and talking about music, we can delve deep into a fascinating industry and discover the stories within.”
