Flume, Cut Copy Among International Dance Music Awards Nominees

Several locals up for gongs

A number of Aussies are among the nominees for this year's 29th annual International Dance Music Awards, with Flume, Empire Of The Sun and Cut Copy all up for gongs.

2013 world-beater Flume - aka Harley Streten - is nominated in the category of Best Indie Dance/Underground DJ, adding to his glowing list of accolades after a massive year for the Sydney producer.

Empire Of The Sun and Cut Copy are up against each other in the Best Alternative/Indie Rock Dance Track category. Their respective tracks Alive and Let Me Show You Love will battle with the likes of CHVRCHES, Linkin Park feat. Steve Aoki and Acrade Fire for the award.

Local beatmaker Tommy Trash's collaboration with Sebastian Ingrosso and John Martin on Reload is up for Best Electro/Progressive House Track, while duo Nervo will battle heavyweights Avicii, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and more in the Best EDM/Pop DJ category. Knife Party are also in the running to take home Best Dubstep/Drum & Bass DJ.

Other notable mentions include Kiwi songstress Lorde in the category of Best Breakthrough Artist (Solo) and local dance website inthemix in the running for Best Music Media Resource.

The winners of the IDMAs will be announced on Thursday 27 March at the Winter Music Conference in Miami. For more info on all the nominees, head to the official website.
