Big Name Aussie Artists To Perform Surprise Busking Sets Around Melbourne

“This is a summer that will reinforce Melbourne’s standing as the nation’s cultural and events capital."

The Victorian Labor Government is delivering a summer like no other, with some of Australia's largest acts delivering pop-up, busking-style gigs in locations around Melbourne's CBD.

The program was launched yesterday with a surprise busking performance from Tones & I at the Melbourne GPO.

ARIA Award-winning artists Budjerah and iconic duo Vika & Linda Bull are also confirmed for the busking project, with more big names to appear across the CBD without notice.

These performances are scheduled well into February, alongside a busking program that features over 700 live performances from emerging Victorian talent.

Minister for Creative Industries, Danny Pearson, stated: “Tones & I, Vika & Linda Bull and other incredible Victorian artists are bringing the buzz to city streets this summer – we’re delivering live music back here in the CBD and all over Victoria.

"This is a summer that will reinforce Melbourne’s standing as the nation’s cultural and events capital with an epic calendar of performances, live music and events.”
