Aus Music Scene Rallies Behind Jason Walker Following Stroke

A huge benefit show confirmed for June.

A benefit concert has been confirmed in honour of alt-country singer-songwriter Jason Walker, who is currently recovering after suffering a stroke.

Walkerthon will raise funds for the beloved Australian musician, with the Americana Music Association of Australia confirming a special show at Petersham Bowling Club on June 28.

Alt-country legends Shane Nicholson, Kevin Bennett, Jenny Queen, Jeremy Edwards, Ben Leece, Peta Caswell, Mark Lucas, Mindi Sotiri, Sam Shinazzi, Peter V Fenton and Abby Dobso will all make an appearance, playing alongside Walker’s current band, The Tender Mercies, with more names expected to be announced soon.

All proceeds from the evening will go directly to the Jason Walker “Twang Trust”, to assist with mounting medical bills.
