Tickets go from poor sales to in demand
Tickets to Melbourne's All Tomorrow's Parties' Release The Bats event have gone from having an unsustainable “sales trajectory” to being subject to a waiting list after promoters downsized the event.
Earlier this month the festival announced that it was moving from The Westgate Entertainment Centre into the city and would be held across the Palais Theatre and Prince Bandroom. The event's capacity was slashed as a consequence, a result of sluggish ticket sales.
Today ATP confirmed that the festival had sold out and that a waiting list was being set up for tickets.
“If you did not buy in time; email feedback@atpfestival.com to be added to our waiting list,” they wrote.

With The Breeders, Television and Fuck Buttons due to perform – The Jesus Lizard cancelled – promoters have previously addressed punters' concerns over the new format.
“The main headliners will be in the Palais and won't clash,” they wrote on social media.
“There's quite a lot of parking in St Kilda around the venues, and a lot more public transport than the old venue, so that should be easier for the vast majority of attendees. It's less than a ten minute walk between venues and when you have the schedule you'll then be able to plan accordingly for that.
“We know that this move isn't at all ideal and understand your confusion, but it was really a matter of move or cancel the event completely, and then we'd all miss out on seeing the rest of the killer line-up, so we hope you can understand that.”
They added they were looking a replacement for The Jesus Lizard, “but as their cancellation was unexpected and we don't have long to go it's not a simple task – if we can't find a suitable replacement, then the existing headliners will play longer sets.”
