The veteran Irish pop-punk trio Ash are heading back to Australia to perform their debut album 1977 in its entirety this August.

The album's title was a tribute to both the era in which the band members were born and the year of the first Star Wars movie. It's an exuberant chronicle of partying, women and youthful idealism, backed up by supremely melodic sound that fused punk, glam and power pop. The songwriting was so strong that it led to a string of five Top 20 singles that still feel as irresistible as they did in 1996.
