Agency claim it's the first deal of its type

Leading contemporary music booking agency Artist Voice, home to The Temper Trap, Tame Impala, Paul Kelly and formidable electronic division Artist Voice Electronic, have announced that the Australian Chamber Orchestra's ACO Underground has joined the agency's roster.

Fusing classic music with contemporary and alternative composition with electro-acoustic live shows, they ACO Underground performed earlier this year in Sydney. Performing tracks by Radiohead, Nick Drake and Vivaldi, Midnight Oil guitarist Jim Monginie joined the ACO performers, including founder and frontwoman, violinist and vocalist Satu Vänskä for the acclaimed and sold-out one-off event.

The new partnership between ACO Underground and Artist Voice – which the agency are claiming is the first time an Australian independent music agent has orchestra has partnered – will likely see similar events around the country.

Artist Voice's CEO Brett Murrihy said, “I look forward to introducing people to a whole new genre of performance. Together our companies can create great and unique music experiences of the highest standard for Australian audiences.”

Artist Voice's expertise and experience stretches across the breadth of Australian live music and we're thrilled to be their first orchestral-hybrid band… I'm very open minded as to where this partnership might take us, be it new venues or new artists to collaborate with.”

The next ACO Underground event is likely to take place December in Sydney.
