"Buzzing to be back on the road again for the Big Overdrive tour! Coming to some places we’ve never been before / haven’t been in a long time. Pumped to play tunes off the new record and all the golden oldies. See you all there! Love Dan, Dan and Jim”
Sydney electronic dance trio Art vs Science have announced a new 10-date-tour of Australia in support of their latest album Big Overdrive.
The tour will take place in November and December.
The Big Overdrive tour announcement arrives accompanied by a new video for the track Check The Boombox, which can be viewed below.
Speaking about the Big Overdrive tour, the band expressed their excitement.
"Buzzing to be back on the road again for the Big Overdrive tour! Coming to some places we’ve never been before / haven’t been in a long time. Pumped to play tunes off the new record and all the golden oldies. See you all there! Love Dan, Dan and Jim”
The band revealed that Check The Boombox was recorded earlier this year at a friend’s house in Wilsons Creek in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. A full arsenal of old stereo equalisers, a terrible mixing desk, and dusty guitar amplifiers went into this track.

“The cost of producing this track was keeping a black and white cat fed and entertained, and lugging the gear from Bondi in a hired Goget van.”
Art vs Science have been synonymous with creative videos throughout their career and Check The Boombox proves to be no exception. The charmingly eccentric video was directed by Sam Kristofski (Tame Impala, Pond, Broods, San Cisco) and filmed in Los Angeles, California.
The band shared their thoughts on working with Kristofski:
“Delighted to get Sam Kristofski to weave his weird wonderful magic for the Check The Boombox clip. Sam directed our action extravaganza clip for In This Together back in 2015, where he blew all the budget on helicopters, jet skis and mini helicopters. Stoked to let him blow the budget again, this time with journeying knights in the desert”.
Regarded by many as one of Australia’s best live acts, Art vs Science will hit stages in Brisbane, Kingscliff (NSW), Melbourne, Abderfeldie (Vic), Newcastle, Mandurah (WA), Fremantle, Wollongong, Sydney and McLaren Vale (SA) on the Big Overdrive tour.
